The chief difference between the European-spec model and the new American version can be found in the engine bay. \n\tYes, the mill in our Supersport has two fewer cylinders than the one on the other side of the Atlantic, but it still has some pep. Morgan says the B46, which can also be found in the current U.S.-spec BMW 330i, makes 252 hp and 258 ft lbs of torque, all of which is routed to the rear axle via an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. That is 78 hp and 111 ft lbs of torque less than the original Supersport, but when you take into account the fact that the vehicle tips the scales at just 2,520 pounds\u2014a paltry figure by 2026 car standards\u2014it still figures to be quite fast.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe American Supersport may have a different engine than its European counterpart, but its hand-built exterior is basically unchanged. That\u2019s a good thing, since Morgan\u2019s throwback design is one of the main virtues of its models. The Supersport has a stretched-out hood, circular headlights, and curvaceous fenders, all of which combine to give it the look of a pre-war sports car. The two-door continues to be available with an interchangeable carbon-composite hard top or folding mohair soft top. Inside, the two-seat cabin is unchanged, though the U.S. version does have a much more attractive shifter on the center console.<\/p>\n
