Caleb Shomo<\/a>, lead singer of the rock band Beartooth, and his wife Fleur Shomo have jointly filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

The New York Post\u2019s Page Six broke news<\/a> of the split Wednesday, though Fleur Shomo had alluded<\/a> to her dissolution of her marriage in a May 23 Instagram post the same day that her husband publicly came out<\/a> as gay. In a podcast interview<\/a> last month, the musician also referred to her as his \u201cthen-wife.\u201d <\/p>\n

The couple have been married since 2012 and do not have any children. <\/p>\n

A Columbus, Ohio, native, Caleb Shomo founded Beartooth in 2012. The band is gearing up to release its sixth studio album, \u201cPure Ecstasy<\/a>,\u201d next month. <\/p>\n

On May 23, the singer-songwriter addressed his queer sexuality in an emotional Instagram post<\/a>, writing: \u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further. I am a proudly gay man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI spend a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly when I decided to put it down and focus on why I felt this way for so long, it\u2019s been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead to me experiencing self love,\u201d he continued. \u201cI believe it\u2019s impossible to love every part of you when you won\u2019t face every part of you head on. I am trying to finally be proud of who I am and I think this is a massive part of that journey.\u201d <\/p>\n

Appearing on the \u201cDisrespectfully\u201d podcast<\/a> in June, the musician admitted he was \u201cterrified\u201d to discuss his sexuality with his spouse.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said something to my then-wife about how I feel about men, and how I\u2019ve never really allowed myself to explore this, but I have to tell you, I can\u2019t not,\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd it was just a road from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Immediately following her husband\u2019s announcement, Fleur Shomo shared an Instagram post<\/a> noting she \u201cwill always want to love, protect and support Caleb,\u201d but acknowledged: \u201cMy mental health has suffered & I have had moments where I have not felt or acted like myself.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cOur nearly 14yrs of marriage was wonderful and full of so much adventure & love,\u201d she wrote. \u201cNobody will know anything about our marriage like we do … I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it\u2019s done.\u201d <\/p>\n

She concluded her post by pledging to \u201ccontinue living my life trying to achieve what I want to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure things will slowly get better, day by day, piece by small piece, bird by bird,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n
