Hamilton police have identified the man whose body was found in a culvert in Stoney Creek Wednesday morning as part of a homicide investigation.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the north end of Fruitland Road at around 8:15 a.m., where they found the body of 29-year-old Taranpreet Singh Sidhu from Brampton.<\/p>\n
Detectives confirm that Sidhu\u2019s death is the result of a homicide.<\/p>\n
Police did not say what the cause of death is at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
Officers are confident that the victim was not killed in the area where he was found, and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.<\/p>\n
Investigators say Sidhu immigrated to Canada from India in 2022, and lived in Brampton and Halifax while working as a truck driver.<\/p>\n
