With Magic Con Amsterdam well underway, the nonstop deluge of new cards has completely taken over the internet. On top of tons of spoilers, a surprise eighth set for 2026<\/a>, and the spoiler season for The Hobbit kicking off tomorrow, Reality Fracture also has a ton of new goodies to look at. With five never-before-seen Planeswalkers being showcased, there\u2019s a ton of goodies to see here.<\/p>\n

MTG The Theorist, Jace Beleren<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The big bad for Reality Fracture, The Theorist, Jace Beleren\u2019s static ability is absolutely absurd. Drawing you three extra cards per turn rotation in Commander, The Theorist can easily see play in every single bracket 3 blue deck in Commander. If that weren\u2019t enough, the actual abilities of The Theorist are quite strong, too.<\/p>\n

Whether you create Illusions to protect your draw Planeswalker, or bounce the biggest threat off each opponent\u2019s board, The Theorist excels at slowing down the game to take advantage of his card draw. In draw-heavy Commander decks like King T\u2019Challa<\/a>, Jace\u2019s Ultimate can even double as a Craterhoof Behemoth<\/a>-esque win condition.<\/p>\n

While The Theorist seems built for Commander, it could have some usage in Standard and Pioneer, too. The constant draw could easily make this card playable in Four-color control and in a wide variety of different midrange shells. So long as you can untap with The Theorist intact, you should be in a great spot to take over the game.<\/p>\n

MTG Liliana, the Faultless<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Judging by early Reality Fracture spoilers, it\u2019s clear that Lifegain strategies will be seeing some strong support in this set. Liliana the Faultless leads the charge here, doubling as a new Soul Sisters card that can also function as a Mother of Runes<\/a>. This is extremely powerful in a traditional lifegain strategy, buffing your Ajani\u2019s Pridemate<\/a>-esque creatures while protecting them once they get big.<\/p>\n

Even without its use as a Soul Sister, Liliana, the Faultless\u2019s second ability could make it playable in a wide variety of decks. The card similarly seems extremely powerful in Pioneer Greasefang, Okiba Boss<\/a> decks, for example, protecting your namesake card while dumping Parhelion II<\/a> into the grave.<\/p>\n

While its legendary status means that playing four of them is risky, Liliana, the Faultless has everything it needs to make an impact in multiple formats.<\/p>\n

MTG Liliana, the Repentant<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Thanks to milling whenever another creature you control enters, Liliana, the Repentant seems like an auto-add to any Commander deck that cares about their graveyard. Tons of powerful precon Commanders, like Terra, Herald of Hope<\/a> and Teval, the Balanced Scale<\/a> can easily add Liliana to their ranks, making this card an instant hit.<\/p>\n

If that weren\u2019t enough, Liliana can easily go infinite with all kinds of different loops. Phyrexian Altar<\/a>, Gravecrawler<\/a>, and another Zombie, for example, allow Liliana to mill your entire deck. You can even reanimate your win condition directly with Liliana\u2019s Exhaust effect, finding Thassa\u2019s Oracle<\/a> or Doctor Doom, Unrivaled<\/a> in mono-black.<\/p>\n

Enlightened Confidant<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

An obvious spinoff of the infamous Dark Confidant<\/a>, Enlightened Confidant adds yet another piece of lifegain support to Reality Fracture. Alongside Liliana, or another Soul Sisters effect like Guide of Souls<\/a>, Enlightened Confidant can become a consistent card advantage engine for decks with a lower mana curve. Notably, Enlightened Confidant will always be able to add lands to your hand, even if you haven\u2019t gained any life.<\/p>\n

While the card is a bit fragile, the powerful lifegain package of Ocelot Pride<\/a> and Guide of Souls<\/a>, and Haliya Guided by Light<\/a> could allow this card to see play in Modern. Gaining two life in the deck is rather trivial, allowing Enlightened Confidant to draw most cards in Boros Energy shells.<\/p>\n

Outside of a potential Modern appearance, Enlightened Confidant is also well-suited to any lifegain decks in Commander. Oloro, Ageless Ascetic<\/a>, for example, is an excellent home for Enlightened Confidant thanks to its free Eminence ability. Regardless of what lifegain deck you have, Enlightened Confidant should impress.<\/p>\n

MTG Ajani Resolute<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As the third non-flip two-mana Planeswalker in MTG, Ajani Resolute could have some serious potential for lifegain decks. Alongside a Soul Sisters start, Ajani can start building up Loyalty counters quickly, turning that into extra copies of Ajani\u2019s Pridemate<\/a>. This can go particularly crazy with Ocelot Pride<\/a>, since Ajani can both gain life to trigger the Pride and create tokens for the Cat to double.<\/p>\n

Outside of lifegain decks, Ajani Resolute basically does nothing. Even with the strong lifegain package in Modern, Ajani might be too slow for the format since it cannot really do anything meaningful on its own. While this is an instant-add to lifegain decks in Commander, Ajani Resolute\u2019s inflexibility can easily make it a liability.<\/p>\n

MTG Ajani, Unrelenting<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Of all the exciting Reality Fracture spoilers we saw today, Ajani, Unrelenting feels a bit all over the place. That said, outside of his obvious synergies in Superfriends decks, Ajani, Unrelenting\u2019s weird abilities have a throughline for token decks. His synergy with Doubling Season<\/a> is a big part of this, doubling both the Planeswalker\u2019s Loyalty and his static ability.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Ajani\u2019s abilities being partial to tokens and wide boards, the Planeswalker seems like a strong fit in Commander decks like Baylen, the Haymaker<\/a> and Caesar, Legion\u2019s Emperor<\/a>. Capable of becoming a boardwide buff, a one-sided wipe, and a card advantage engine, this could easily become an auto-include for go-wide token Commanders in the future.<\/p>\n

MTG Craterclaw Colossus<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A potent reimagining of Craterhoof Behemoth<\/a>, Craterclaw Colossus is one of the best finishers that artifact decks have ever seen. Buffing up your creatures for the amount of artifacts you have lying around, including tokens, this win condition will easily find its place in artifact-fodder Commander decks.<\/p>\n

Considering how popular Food and Treasure decks are in Commander, Craterclaw Colossus should easily see lots of play. Cards like Academy Manufactor<\/a> and Xorn<\/a> can easily flood the board with artifact tokens, allowing Craterclaw Colossus to knock out the table. Alternatively, Commanders that naturally go wide with artifact creatures, like Breya, Etherium Shaper<\/a> seem like great homes for this card.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Craterclaw Colossus being in red, the card isn\u2019t too difficult to cheat into play from your graveyard, either. Between cards like Trash for Treasure<\/a> and Daretti, Scrap Savant<\/a> at your fingertips, winning the game with this creature is trivial.<\/p>\n

MTG Garruk, Curse Breaker<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

MTG players have been waiting years for the return of Garruk, and his first reappearance as we know him seems reasonably playable. Combining a selective draw engine with the ability to ramp, Garruk seems like a great fit in stompy green Commander decks. Between his ability to ramp out Commanders like The Ur-Dragon<\/a>, or act as an Overrun for go-wide decks, Garruk offers an incredible level of flexibility.<\/p>\n

Thanks to granting Trample, in particular, this flexibility could even land Garruk, Curse Breaker a spot in Standard. The card fits like a glove in Mono-Green Landfall strategies, untapping Earthbent Escape Tunnels<\/a> for more land drops while letting massive creatures punch through opposing blockers. It will likely end up in the sideboard for more controlling matchups, but, regardless, Garruk has what it needs to compete.<\/p>\n

MTG Gurruk, Veiled Butcher<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Less exciting than his original counterpart, Garruk, Veiled Butcher feels like a card designed for the sideboard. The card\u2019s static ability can be extremely relevant in the right matchups, and its plus effect can be devastating to the right strategy, but more often than not, Garruk won\u2019t be worth the five mana to cast him.<\/p>\n

Even in Commander, there aren\u2019t many decks that will be interested in running the mono-black Garruk. Legends like Tergrid, God of Fright<\/a> and Tinybones, Trinket Thief<\/a> can take advantage of Garruk\u2019s third ability, but even then, the card isn\u2019t very impressive. Garruk\u2019s sacrifice ability can similarly be really strong when set up properly, but it generally won\u2019t be worth the effort.<\/p>\n

Alongside all of these incredible bombs, a few uncommons were also revealed, showcasing the return of Prepared Spells from Secrets of Strixhaven. Reportedly, these uncommons will show off the Prepared Spells that each card from their respective Schools will have, generally offering a core synergy piece for each strategy. While these cards aren\u2019t the most exciting, they do give players a good idea of what to expect for Reality Fracture Limited.<\/p>\n

Sadly, if these Reality Fracture spoilers have you excited, we still have some time to wait before players will have access to the cards. With the official release on October 2nd, Reality Fracture is still a few months away. Fortunately, there\u2019s far more to see from Magic Con Amsterdam\u2019s onslaught of spoilers.<\/p>\n
