People have also reported running into hardware issues early on, like the front glass cracking on the Pebble Time 2. Earlier this week, Migicovsky addressed the issues in a blog post<\/a>, saying Pebble has replaced 330 Time 2 watches for free so far, out of over 19,000 watches \u201cin the field.\u201d<\/p>\n Pebble\u2019s blog says it will \u201ccontinue replacing reasonable reports of glass cracking for free as long as we can. At some point, we will shift to offering a replacement at a highly discounted amount.\u201d Additionally, Pebble is \u201clooking into\u201d offering replacement parts so people can do DIY repairs on their watches.<\/p>\n While Migicovsky hasn\u2019t offered a timeline for when a shift might happen, he emphasized to The Verge that \u201can immensely small percentage\u201d of watches have had this issue, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s, for all intents and purposes, no skin off our back whatsoever to just offer straight up free replacements for anyone who has a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s just certain things that we could sign up to do, and there\u2019s certain things that we couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n \u201cAt every step of the way we\u2019ve communicated, over-communicated about what to expect [and] what the product\u2019s going to be like.\u201d Pebble warned customers in its announcement<\/a> for the Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2 that they shouldn\u2019t buy one if they need a \u201cperfectly polished smartwatch,\u201d noting that \u201cThings could not last as long as you\u2019d like.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is effectively a grassroots, bottoms-up relaunch of something that we love, and really wanted to see exist in the world,\u201d Migicovsky told me. \u201cIn terms of how we support the product, there\u2019s just certain things that we could sign up to do, and there\u2019s certain things that we couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou can expect a product that\u2019s going to work great, and something that will make you smile, but we can\u2019t guarantee it for maybe the length that other companies or other consumer product companies could with their supply chains and networks of stores all around the world to help with replacements. We just don\u2019t have that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a Pebble, through and through,\u201d Migicovsky says. \u201cIf you enjoyed the first go around, you\u2019re going to love the second go around.
