NASCAR has officially opposed the the preliminary injunction requested by 23XI and Front Row ahead of the hearing later this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n
23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports are suing NASCAR for alleged antitrust violations<\/a>, with the bitter lawsuit between the two sides rumbling on ahead of a court date on August 28.<\/p>\n The team, owned by Michael Jordan<\/a> and Denny Hamlin, secured the preliminary injunction needed to grant charter status<\/a>\u00a0for the 2025\u00a0NASCAR<\/a> Cup Series season – meaning that they could race despite not signing the charter agreement.<\/p>\n 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports accused NASCAR of being \u201cmonopolistic bullies\u201d in the agreement, and opted not to sign ahead of them suing the company.<\/p>\n NASCAR has been fighting back, stating that they should be allowed to SELL the cars driven by racers in the 23XI team – including Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick.<\/p>\n NASCAR has also made claims against the legendary basketball figure, Jordan, stating that he “wants to use the litigation to grant him a permanent Charter that no other team has.”<\/p>\n NASCAR president Steve Phelps has piled pressure on Jordan and the co-owner Denny Hamlin, a legendary NASCAR driver himself, while stating that ‘multiple parties’ hold interest in buying their charters.<\/p>\n Phelps claims to have five lines of a paged document filled with names looking to buy their charters.<\/p>\n DON’T MISS…<\/p>\n He is quoted as saying: “Unlike the Plaintiffs, many individuals and organizations, including the interested parties referenced above, view the 2025 Charters as a good investment and want to acquire them and work with NASCAR to further grow the Cup Series.”<\/p>\n
