Surrey non-profit receives funding to enhance family resource program<\/p>\n

A Surrey-based non-profit has received funding for its family resource program to purchase a range of items, including outdoor play equipment.<\/p>\n
The Options Community Services weekly drop-in program provides a place for kids aged 0-6 to play and enjoy a snack, and offers guardians or caregivers support and resources related to parenting, child development, early literacy, and the health and safety of young kids. <\/p>\n
The funds will also be used for education sessions for parents and to purchase sun shirts and all-weather clothing that will remain on-site and be available to families during outdoor play and parent workshops. <\/p>\n
\u201cAt the Family Research Programs, we believe children learn best through play,\u201d said Options family resource program manager, Shelby Gordon in a video about the program<\/a>. \u201cThe staff really strive to adapt the program to meet the unique needs of every child and every family. We do believe in a strength-based approach.
