{"id":81137,"date":"2025-08-19T12:07:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T12:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/81137\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T12:07:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T12:07:07","slug":"drakkar-klose-dedicates-ufc-319-win-to-brother-who-was-an-edson-barboza-fan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/81137\/","title":{"rendered":"Drakkar Klose dedicates UFC 319 win to brother, who was an Edson Barboza fan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHICAGO \u2013 Drakkar Klose met with MMA Junkie and other media members Saturday after his win over Edson Barboza at UFC 319.<\/p>\n<p>Klose (16-3-1 MMA, 10-3 UFC) picked up arguably the biggest win of his career when he outworked feared striker Barboza (24-13 MMA, 18-13 UFC) for a unanimous decision on the preliminary card at United Center.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>It was an emotional return to the win column for Klose, who dedicated the fight to his brother, who was murdered in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This win was for my big brother,&#8221; Klose said at his post-fight news conference. &#8220;Barboza was actually one of his favorite fighters. I know my brother&#8217;s up there looking down on me right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Klose said his 10th UFC win is an important benchmark because he wasn&#8217;t expected to be here.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of people can&#8217;t say they&#8217;ve got 10 wins in the UFC,&#8221; Klose told MMA Junkie. &#8220;To me, I still feel like a little poor kid from South Haven, Mich. I don&#8217;t feel like anything special.
