<\/p>\nThe Surrey Police Service (SPS) is asking the public\u2019s help in identifying a possible suspect linked to a recent fire at Surrey City Hall.<\/p>\n
The incident took place on Monday, July 13, at approximately 3:30 a.m., when a blaze caused \u201csignificant property damage\u201d to the building.<\/p>\n
\u201cSPS Frontline officers responded to a call from Surrey Fire Services (SFS) that they were on scene for a fire at Surrey City Hall, located at 13450 104th Ave.,\u201d said the police department in a release.<\/p>\n
\u201cSPS Frontline members arrived and observed the southwest side of the building engulfed in smoke.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the police department, SFS<\/a> told its officers that the fire had most likely started outside of the City Hall in a portable toilet, located against the building.<\/p>\n The blaze then caused the building\u2019s exterior glass to break due to the heat, which allowed smoke to enter City Hall and trigger the interior sprinkler system.<\/p>\n No injuries were reported during the incident.<\/p>\n Surrey Libraries\u2019 City Centre Branch and Surrey City Hall and civic plaza.
