Tre Ford ran for 109 yards and Hamilton held off a furious Toronto comeback to escape with a 24-23 win.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats improve to 3-3 after grinding out a one-point win over the Toronto Argonauts, who drop to 2-4 and now sit outside the East playoff picture. Toronto piled up 417 yards of offense and still couldn’t find a way to finish drives when it mattered, while Hamilton leaned on Ford’s legs and a stingy fourth-quarter defense to close it out.

Box Score

Team

Q1

Q2

Q3

Q4

OT

Final

Toronto Argonauts

7

0

3

13

0

23

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

7

7

10

0

0

24

See full player stats and game details

Game Highlights

Top PerformersHamilton Tiger-CatsToronto ArgonautsTeam Stats

Stat

Toronto Argonauts

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Total Yards

417

375

Passing

25/35, 322 yds, 1 TD

21/27, 218 yds, 1 TD

Rushing

15 att, 95 yds, 2 TD

27 att, 157 yds, 2 TD

Turnovers

1

1

Quick Hits

Toronto out-gained Hamilton by 42 total yards but still lost — a bad sign for a team that needed this one.

Nick Arbuckle came off the bench to punch in two short rushing touchdowns while starter Chad Kelly did the heavy lifting through the air.

Tre Ford’s 109 rushing yards were nearly as many as Toronto’s entire rushing attack (95), and it was the difference-maker in a game decided by a single point.

What’s Next

CFL Standings | Full Schedule | League Leaders

What’s your takeaway?
