An Ofcom spokeswoman said: \u201cWe are investigating a Fairness and Privacy complaint about <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/married-at-first-sight-uk\/\" id=\"auto-tag_married-at-first-sight-uk\" data-tag=\"married-at-first-sight-uk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Married At First Sight UK<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe regulator\u2019s group director of broadcast previously told British lawmakers Ofcom would examine an \u201cadvance copy\u201d of Channel 4\u2019s review into welfare on the show and \u201curgently\u201d consider \u201cwhether \u201cany regulatory action is necessary.\u201d Channel 4\u2019s two welfare reviews into the show have not yet completed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMarried at First Sight UK was hit by multiple rape allegations several weeks back and one contestant has been <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/married-at-first-sight-uk-contestant-arrested-rape-1236973169\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrested on suspicion of rape<\/a>. A BBC News investigation found two women alleged they were raped by partners they met on the hit show, while a third claimed she experienced a non-consensual sex act. Ofcom\u2019s Cristina Nicolotti Squires previously told MPs the allegations are \u201cdeeply disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn May, Channel 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/married-at-first-sight-rape-allegations-channel-4-review-1236914619\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">opened two investigations<\/a>, one overseen by a law firm and the other by former BBC One chief Lorraine Heggessey, while removing all\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/mafs\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mafs\" data-tag=\"mafs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MAFS<\/a>\u00a0episodes from its streaming service. Lawyers for\u00a0MAFS\u00a0UK producer CPL Productions told BBC News they disputed elements of the claims at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tChannel 4 CEO Priya Dogra\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/married-at-first-sight-uk-channel-4-ceo-dogra-says-sorry-1236916536\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">apologized in late May<\/a>\u00a0to the women who made \u201cvery troubling\u201d rape allegations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMAFS\u00a0UK is one of Channel 4\u2019s biggest hits and has been airing for more than a decade.
