A road closure is coming to 64th Avenue near the Surrey-Langley border.<\/p>\n
The roadway, north of the Fraser Highway, will be shut down to facilitate construction along the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain route from July 20 to 22. The road was originally only going to be closed until July 17, then it was changed to July 20, now it will be closed until July 22.<\/p>\n
\u201cSurrey-Langley SkyTrain construction is underway,\u201d explains a press release from the B.C. Government\u2019s Transportation Investment Corporation (TIC). \u201cTo support the installation of the elevated guideway, the following temporary traffic pattern change will be in effect.\u201d<\/p>\n
The TIC notes traffic pattern changes will occur from 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. when closed.<\/p>\n
These include: no access to or from 64th Avenue north of Fraser Highway during construction hours; turn restrictions to or from Fraser Highway will be in effect 24 hours a day during construction period; no access from 192nd Street to 64th Avenue and Fraser Highway; access to 192nd Street from 64th Avenue westbound will be for local traffic only; alternate routes available via 188th Street, 194th Street, 68th Avenue, and 196th Street.<\/p>\n
\u201cPedestrians to use the crosswalk on the south side of Fraser Highway to cross 64th Avenue,\u201d the TIC release continued. \u201cThis will be in effect until October 2026. Cyclists to share the road.\u201d<\/p>\n
TIC adds business access will be maintained at all times and access on 64th Avenue will be available after 10 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201dThe travelling public can expect delays in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n
