Schiers is the founder of ENVE Composites, a former product developer for Reynolds Cycling and\u00a0Crankbrothers\/Selle Royal, and general manager of GT Bikes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schiers will lead the company\u2019s U.S. and Canada business from its U.S. base in Irvine, CA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Acros\u00a0said its partners\u00a0include\u00a0Canyon, YT Industries,\u00a0Propain, Giant,\u00a0Colnago\u00a0and Cannondale, among many others, but consumer awareness has lagged its OEM positioning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn North America,\u00a0Acros\u00a0might be the most overlooked European brand in cycling. Their internal manufacturing depth is rare in this industry and a huge asset.\u00a0They\u2019re\u00a0genuinely concerned about the user\u2019s experience, not just the product itself but also\u00a0coming up with\u00a0innovative solutions for industry partners and customers. This\u00a0is for me\u00a0where the opportunity becomes exciting and unique to\u00a0Acros.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schiers will run all North American operations, building dealer and brand relationships directly in the market and feeding insights back to the\u00a0Acros\u00a0headquarters in Stuttgart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a big investment at a time when most brands are pulling out of markets and scaling back,\u201d said Frank Weidner, founder and CEO of\u00a0Acros. \u201cWe think there\u2019s a real gap in the market for purpose-engineered bearing products that meet riders where they are \u2013 not the next halo product with\u00a0the price\u00a0tag of a used bike. Making this move now only makes sense if you have the right reasons.
