A 26-year-old Brampton man has died after the transport truck he was driving rolled over on the Trans-Canada Highway in southwest Saskatchewan early Monday morning.<\/p>\n
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, emergency crews were called to Highway 1 at about 1:45 a.m. on July 20 following reports of a semi-truck rollover approximately six kilometres east of the Village of Chaplin, a small community located about 95 km west of Moose Jaw and roughly 80 km east of Swift Current.<\/p>\n
Swift Current Rural\/Morse RCMP officers responded to the scene alongside local firefighters and EMS. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police identified the victim only as a 26-year-old man from Brampton. His family has been notified, but RCMP have not publicly released his name.<\/p>\n
The cause of the rollover has not been released.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, who is working to determine what led to the fatal crash.<\/p>\n
Chaplin is a village along the Trans-Canada Highway in Saskatchewan\u2019s southwest, situated near Chaplin Lake and commonly used as a stopping point for commercial traffic travelling between Regina and Swift Current.<\/p>\n
