Update (6:00 p.m. EDT): In a press release, HYBE\u2019s global communications team confirmed that \u201cNewJeans have come together for a commemorative special film series celebrating the fourth anniversary of their debut,\u201d adding that \u201cThis marks the group\u2019s first official content featuring the four members \u2014 MINJI, HANNI, HAERIN and HYEIN \u2014 together in two years since wrapping up their most recent album, Supernatural.\u201d The press release included a statement from HYBE label ADOR saying, \u201cThe special film series was created from the members\u2019 shared wish to celebrate their fourth anniversary together with fans. We hope Bunnies will enjoy these films as a heartfelt gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

Original Story: Coinciding with NewJeans<\/a>\u2019 fourth anniversary, the chart-topping K-pop group signaled their return to the spotlight with a series of new photos and videos declaring \u201c2026 Summer of NewJeans.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a series of group and individual photos, videos and vignettes, Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein return to viewers with visuals that include references to their history together. From stuffed animals to origami, each of the members\u2019 videos features winks to Bunnies, the name of NewJeans\u2019 fanbase, with little rabbits acting as a representative animal for the group. There\u2019s a running theme around flyers for an ice cream stand called The Bunnies Scoop, which is promoting a \u201cNew Flavor!\u201d that \u201cTastes Like Summer!\u201d that costs $7.22, a reference to the group\u2019s debut date when they surprised the world with their first song \u201cAttention.\u201d<\/a> In the solo video for youngest member Hyein, viewers see her draw out the same U-shaped character atop NewJeans\u2019 official light sticks.<\/p>\n

The final mini-film unveiled is a 59-second visual where all four happily reunite in person with a quick shot of what looks like a large white rabbit in the grass catching their attention before the video ends.<\/p>\n

While no official news has been revealed yet via NewJeans\u2019 label ADOR or its parent company HYBE, all signs point to NewJeans\u2019 comeback as imminent. Any new music will mark the group\u2019s first release in over two years after the outfit last released Supernatural<\/a> on June 21, 2024.<\/p>\n

While the five NewJeans members were involved in a lengthy legal battle to break their contracts with HYBE, Korean courts ruled<\/a> the members\u2019 contracts were valid. Following the ruling, members Haerin, Hyein,<\/a> and Hanni all returned to ADOR last year, while ADOR announced they terminated the contract of original fifth member Danielle<\/a>. There has been news that eldest member Minji was in talks<\/a> to return to ADOR as well, but nothing has been confirmed at press time despite her appearing in the new material.<\/p>\n

HYBE did not immediately return a request for comment at press time.<\/p>\n
