Victims signed rental agreements and paid deposits for the first and last month&#8217;s rent.<\/p>\n<p>When victims arrived to move into the properties, many after already vacating their previous homes, they allegedly discovered the rentals were unavailable. Investigators say none of the victims received the promised accommodations or a refund.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation has identified 17 alleged incidents involving total financial losses exceeding $60,000.<\/p>\n<p>On July 13, 2026, Savreet Kaur, 27, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with 38 counts of fraud over $5,000 and one count of obstructing police. She was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice.
