Golf Pride have expanded their comfort-focused CP grip family with a new model featuring a softer feel, improved traction and a reduced-taper profile designed to promote lighter pressure.

The latest addition to the world’s biggest grip brand’s line-up builds on one of Golf Pride’s softest grip ranges, while introducing a handful of new technologies aimed at the modern golfer.

Simply called CP, the new model features different tack and traction zones through the upper and lower sections of the grip. Golf Pride say the glove-hand area provides maximum tack, while the lower section has been designed to reduce unwanted movement and maintain a consistent connection with the club.

The CP grip also uses a softer compound intended to dampen some of the feedback at impact and reduce hand soreness during a round.

"The

It should particularly appeal to golfers who prefer a cushioned grip or struggle with discomfort in their hands. Golf Pride already recommend models from the CP (CP2 and CPX) family to golfers with arthritis or joint pain, although grip size remains another important consideration for anyone experiencing those issues.

The other significant feature is a reduced-taper profile, with a larger diameter underneath the lower hand. It works on the same principle as Golf Pride’s Plus4 designs, recreating the feel of additional layers of tape beneath the lower section of the grip.

The larger profile is intended to encourage lighter grip pressure and reduce tension in the hands and forearms. It has become an increasingly familiar option across Golf Pride’s range, including the MCC Plus4 and CPX.

Grip choice is often overlooked compared with clubs, shafts and golf balls, but it is the golfer’s only physical connection with the club. Changes in diameter, taper, firmness and texture can all have a noticeable effect on comfort and how securely the club can be held.

"A

The new CP sits at the softer end of a Golf Pride lineup that caters for very different preferences. Tour Velvet remains the company’s all-rounder, the MCC combines cord in the upper hand with rubber in the lower section, while ZGrip is aimed more towards golfers wanting a firmer, heavily textured grip with greater moisture control.

Golf Pride remain the dominant grip manufacturer in professional golf. More than 80% of Tour professionals use their grips without being paid to do so, including three of this year’s four men’s major winners (Rory McIlroy, Aaron Rai, Ryan Fox), while Tour Velvet remains the most-played model across the worldwide Tours.

"Golf

“For a lot of players, feeling good on the course is what matters more than birdies and bogeys,” said Golf Pride President Jamie Ledford.

“With the CP, we’re showing golfers how a grip can give them a feeling of comfort and confidence and allow them to enjoy a full round with a constant feeling of connection to the club in each and every swing.”

The Golf Pride CP will be available in standard size from August 4, with a midsize version due to follow shortly afterwards.

Golf Pride have expanded their comfort-focused CP grip family with a new model featuring a softer feel, improved…

[443
49,48,622,82
post-818949","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-golf","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-golf","tag-sports
["GET
