{"id":820089,"date":"2026-07-23T04:19:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T04:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/820089\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T04:19:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T04:19:11","slug":"mjf-reportedly-driving-creative-force-behind-big-aew-redemption-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/820089\/","title":{"rendered":"MJF reportedly &#8216;driving creative force&#8217; behind big AEW Redemption match"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even though he hasn\u2019t been announced for Sunday\u2019s Redemption in any form, news has emerged about former AEW World Champion MJF\u2019s role in a big match for the pay-per-view.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fightfulselect.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Fightful Select reported on Wednesday<\/a> that MJF was the \u201cdriving creative force\u201d behind the World title match between the man that beat him for the gold \u2014 Kenny Omega \u2014 and TNT Champion Kevin Knight.<\/p>\n<p>While he specifically didn\u2019t say Knight should be the one to challenge Omega, he was apparently heavily behind whoever the TNT Champion was challenging for the World title at Sunday\u2019s show. The outlet noted MJF was also in favor of Knight joining the Don Callis Family, but has denied it.<\/p>\n<p>Knight was owed a World title match in storyline after joining Team MJF for the 12-man cage match main event at Forbidden Door.<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f4wonline.com\/news\/aew\/update-on-aews-decision-to-move-kenny-omega-vs-mjf-to-beach-break\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dave Meltzer had previously reported <\/a>that Omega vs. MJF for the title was set for Redemption, but that MJF had pushed for it to be bumped up to the Beach Break Dynamite instead for unknown reasons.
