Historically, the only way to do that has been a screenshot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But in iOS 27, there\u2019s a much better solution coming: a new \u2018Save Video Frame as Photo\u2019 feature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking a screenshot of a video is easy enough. But it comes with two downsides:<\/p>\n<p>Lower resolution photo<\/p>\n<p>Poorly cropped image<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With iOS 27\u2019s new feature, both of these become non-issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When watching a video in iOS 27\u2019s Photos app, behind the three-dot icon in the top-right corner is a new menu option: \u2019Save Video Frame as Photo.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s as simple as it sounds. The frame of the video that\u2019s currently being displayed will be saved as a new photo to your Photos library.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resolution will be far better than what a screenshot offers, and you won\u2019t have to crop it at all. Instead, your iPhone will do all the work for you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The iPhone has long supported snapping a still frame while you\u2019re actively recording a video. So the lack of a similar option for saved videos has been a curious omission. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully now, with iOS 27, Apple finally lets you capture images from a saved video too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Has this Photos feature been on your personal wishlist too?
