Bisou Bakehouse<\/a> at their new Vancouver location on Robson Street and chances are you’ll probably look up before you look at the pastry display.<\/p>\nCroissants are all around the place. One giant croissant (if only it was real) rests near the entrance, and dozens of smaller croissants seem to “rain” from the ceiling. Behind the counter, an entire wall lined with glossy croissants completes what might be Vancouver’s most croissant-filled cafe. Top it up with the bustling city views.<\/p>\n
The popular French bakery officially opened its third storefront on July 18. The 1201 Robson St. cafe\u00a0becomes Bisou Bakehouse’s second downtown location, alongside its West End cafe\u00a0on Bidwell Street, while continuing the bakery’s roots that began in West Vancouver nearly two decades ago. It\u00a0took over the space on the corner of Robson and Bute Street,\u00a0the former Waves Coffee location.<\/p>\n
The new cafe\u00a0offers Bisou’s signature French-inspired pastries, including buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, macarons, danishes and cakes.<\/p>\n
Their journey began in 2006, launched by five close friends with a shared vision in a small 400-square-foot storefront in West Vancouver.<\/p>\n
“We wanted to do more than bake; we wanted to use our pastries as a canvas to tell stories, evoke nostalgic aromas, and inspire with impeccable flavours,” reads the bakery’s website. “We believe that each pastry we make carries with it a piece of our journey, from our hands to your table.”<\/p>\n
Since then, that little neighbourhood bakery has become a familiar name across Metro Vancouver.<\/p>\n
In addition to selling its baked goods in-store, the company also distributes them to Fairmont hotels and various international airlines, giving you a chance to satisfy your craving 30,000 feet above.<\/p>\n
