Family hasn\u2019t lost hope Surrey cold-case homicide will be solved<\/p>\n

The still-grieving family of Surrey homicide victim Jatinder \u201cMichael\u201d Sandhu, 28, who was fatally shot on July 23, 2016 in Whalley, is marking the 10th anniversary of this unsolved case with a video recorded appeal<\/a> for information from anyone able to help advance the police investigation.<\/p>\n

Sandhu was shot in the head while sitting in a car parked in a driveway in the 14300-block of 90A Avenue. His friend was shot in the arm.<\/p>\n

Police believe Sandhu was an innocent victim<\/a>. Neither had a criminal record.<\/p>\n

In the video, family members describe Sandhu as \u201cvery loving and caring. He would always be smiling.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much has been taken from him and from us. We\u2019ve lost all this time being with him. If Michael was here he would have been married, he would have had kids, he wanted to change careers. We don\u2019t even know where he would have gone with that as well. You know, we\u2019ve lost our so much.\u201d <\/p>\n

His family hasn\u2019t lost hope justice will be served.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anybody has anything, we would ask that they contact IHIT and tell them whatever information that they have. It may not seem to you that whatever you know is not important but let IHIT make that decision, whether it is important or not, but contact them.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sergeant Freda Fong of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said investigators don\u2019t believe either men had links to gangs or criminal activity and \u201cevidence to date suggests they may have not been the intended targets of the shooting.\u201d <\/p>\n
