{"id":822388,"date":"2026-07-24T05:13:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T05:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/822388\/"},"modified":"2026-07-24T05:13:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T05:13:11","slug":"afc-toronto-takes-over-third-in-nsl-with-win-over-montreal-roses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/822388\/","title":{"rendered":"AFC Toronto takes over third in NSL with win over Montreal Roses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">MONTREAL \u2014 Lauren Rowe and Kaylee Hunter scored second-half goals, goalkeeper Sabrina D\u2019Angelo made two saves, and the visiting AFC Toronto moved into sole possession of third place with a 2-0 win over the Montreal Roses in Northern Super League action on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Rowe snapped a scoreless draw in the 50th minute, while Hunter scored 25 minutes later at Stade Boreale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">AFC Toronto improved to five wins, four losses and three draws for 18 points, two points up on the Vancouver Rise and six behind the second-place Roses, who slipped to seven wins, three losses and three draws.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Montreal held the upper hand in the possession game (60 per cent to 40), and outshot the visitors 10-7, albeit Toronto had the advantage with on-target shots (4-2).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The visitors took seven of the game\u2019s 11 corner kicks and all four of the match\u2019s yellow cards.
