The Montreal Canadiens have just released a very interesting official statement.

It gives us a rare update on several important figures within the organization, including head coach Martin St. Louis.

Martin St. Louis made a strong impression at the Canadiens’ Development Camp by delivering another inspiring speech to the organization’s prospects, speaking directly to them in the team locker room.

It gives us a detailed look at what took place in that locker room, and we love it.

The highlight happened away from the spotlight.

The head coach addressed the young players directly in the privacy of the locker room following the team’s intra-squad games.

That kind of gesture says a lot about the man behind the bench.

St. Louis doesn’t just coach; he strives to teach and inspire the next generation.

For prospects dreaming of reaching the NHL, hearing from someone with Martin St. Louis’ resume is worth more than any on-ice drill.

It’s the kind of message that stays with them.

That’s exactly what Development Camp is about. Yes, it’s a chance to evaluate young players, but it’s also an opportunity to immerse them in the culture and standards the organization wants to establish.

Two familiar faces also caught attention in the stands.

Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov attended the intra-squad games to watch the organization’s prospects in action.

Their presence was far from insignificant.

Seeing two young cornerstones take the time to support the next wave of Canadiens talent says a great deal about their passion and commitment.

It’s no coincidence that both have already signed significant long-term contracts in Montreal.

Seeing Hutson and Demidov in the stands also highlights their attachment to the organization. They could have been anywhere else, enjoying their offseason, but they chose to be there.

That said, the real test is coming at training camp, and it will be a major one.

See the official statement here:

“While Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov took in the Canadiens Development Camp scrimmages to see the organization’s prospects in action, Martin St-Louis was also in the house to give them an inspiring talk in the team’s locker room.”
