Ice cream lovers across the city can now vote for their favourite local ice cream spot and help crown this year\u2019s winner.<\/p>\n<p>Konez in Headingley is a popular stop for families looking to cool down after a baseball game, soccer match, or for anyone wanting a quick trip just outside the city for a sweet treat.<\/p>\n<p>For one of the shop\u2019s three owners, Harlo Larkin, the best part of running an ice cream shop is the community that comes through the doors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody is ever upset when they come for ice cream,\u201d Larkin said.<\/p>\n<p>He says seeing customers smile and creating a place where people can make memories is what makes the job special.<\/p>\n<p>Konez is also serving up a new summer feature: the Aloha Sundae, a creation designed to transport customers straight to Hawaii with its tropical flavours.<\/p>\n<p>The sundae combines sweet pineapple, rich caramel, and crunchy Skor pieces, all layered over creamy soft serve.<\/p>\n<p>Customer Angela Peacock sampled a strawberry chocolate sundae topped with peanuts, describing it as tasting like a \u201cchocolate-covered strawberry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A sweet solution<\/p>\n<p>Beyond its unique flavours, Konez has also added a family-friendly feature for its youngest customers.
