\u201cPickleball is very popular,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople of all ages come here to play. We have two pickleball courts and a tennis court. Members of the 55-Plus Club play here and do pickleball lessons. There\u2019s no membership fee. It\u2019s just a fun thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also noted that the tennis courts and the ball field beside them were the first facilities on the site.<\/p>\n
The changes are somewhat overshadowed by the ongoing work to complete the club\u2019s new building that is located beside Scotsburn Elementary and in front of the playground and sports area.<\/p>\n
Work on the building is continuing as people are available. It was envisioned to offer more multi-use opportunities than the club\u2019s previous location in the centre of the village.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re doing some interior work, some strapping and insulation,\u201d Gunn said.<\/p>\n
Local 4-H club member Myra Dewar was welcomed back to work as a summer student on the grounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s pretty good,\u201d she said. \u201cI like it. I was here last summer too. It\u2019s pretty cool to see the building come together.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Other projects include offering a Trail Head Park as a gateway to hiking trails in and around Fitzpatrick Mountain to encourage more active living outdoors and working in partnership with the food forest project that is also located on the grounds.<\/p>\n
