San Diego FC<\/a> have acquired defender\u00a0Dagur Dan Th\u00f3rhallsson<\/a> from CF Montr\u00e9al<\/a>, the clubs announced Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In exchange for the 26-year-old Iceland international, Montr\u00e9al receive $500,000 in guaranteed General Allocation Money (GAM), plus an additional $125k in conditional GAM.<\/p>\n

They’ll also hold a percentage of a future transfer of Th\u00f3rhallsson.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re happy to get this over the line and welcome Dagur to San Diego FC,\u201d said sporting director Tyler Heaps. \u201cHe is an experienced player in this league and internationally with the quality to make an immediate impact.<\/p>\n

“We believe he’ll be an important player for our group, and we’re excited to welcome him and his family to San Diego.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Th\u00f3rhallsson had one goal in 10 regular-season appearances for Montr\u00e9al this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He spent the previous three seasons (2023-25) with Orlando City<\/a>, where he tallied 9g\/11a in 116 appearances across all competitions.<\/p>\n

Capped 10 times by Iceland, Th\u00f3rhallsson most recently featured for his national team last month in a pre-2026 FIFA World Cup<\/a> friendly against Argentina.\u00a0<\/p>\n
