Tolkien\u2019s Middle-earth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to an official logline, \u201cSeason Three takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will \u2013 and at last rule all Middle-earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDuring the \u201cRIngs of Power\u201d Season 3 presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, it was revealed that Simon Pegg will voice the Balrog, a hulking magma monster that will help Sauron forge the One Ring. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe \u201cRings of Power\u201d cast members include Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz C\u00f3rdova, Charles Edwards, Robert Strange, and Markella Kavenagh. \u201cStranger Things\u201d star Jamie Campbell Bower, Eddie Marsan, Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla and Adam Young also recently joined the cast for Season 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe show takes place thousands of years before the events of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/the-lord-of-the-rings\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/the-lord-of-the-rings\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Lord of the Rings<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Hobbit,\u201d and follows the forging of the titular Rings of Power and \u201cLOTR\u201d antagonist Sauron\u2019s return to Middle-earth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe Rings of Power\u201d Season 3 is produced by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The pair will also executive produce along with Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director Charlotte Br\u00e4ndstr\u00f6m. Br\u00e4ndstr\u00f6m is joined by directors Sanaa Hamri and Stefan Schwartz, each director overseeing multiple episodes in the upcoming season.
