Region of Peel \u2013 Investigators from the Homicide Bureau have arrested one individual and are seeking the public\u2019s assistance in identifying two additional suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Brampton.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, June 4, at approximately 7:07 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Crown Victoria Drive. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 38-year-old Jamal Edwards of Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
On July 21, following a comprehensive investigation, 24-year-old Bakiram Balakumar of Scarborough was arrested and charged with:<\/p>\n
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.<\/p>\n
Two additional suspects were captured on video and remain outstanding.\u00a0 Police are looking for assistance or information to identify them.\u00a0 They should be considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are advised not to approach the suspects and to call 911 immediately if they are seen.<\/p>\n
