Bret Michaels revealed he underwent an unexpected surgery after experiencing \u201cintense\u201d pain from a kidney stone.<\/p>\n
The Poison frontman, 63, shared an update<\/a> from his hospital bed via Facebook on Wednesday, telling his followers that he\u2019s learned \u201ccomplete gratitude\u201d for the hospital workers who helped care for him this week.<\/p>\n Michaels was taken to the hospital when the stone \u201cwould not pass\u201d after seven days of waiting as the \u201cpain became too much,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n Bret Michaels, pictured above in a hospital bed, revealed he underwent an unexpected surgery to have a kidney stone removed after performing three concerts. BretMichaels\/Facebook<\/p>\n The rockstar (seen here performing for a crowd) told his followers on Wednesday that he was admitted to the hospital when the stone \u201cwould not pass\u201d after a week of waiting. BretMichaels\/Facebook<\/p>\n \u201cThe pain became intense but, as usual, I played through Charleston [West Virginia], Grantville, [Pennsylvania], and a special private show at Fairchild AFB in Spokane for veterans, active duty and their families,\u201d he wrote, adding that he was hospitalized \u201cimmediately, the next day\u201d after his Spokane appearance. <\/p>\n \u201cThe operation has been done and is complete & I\u2019m out of post-op recovery, and I\u2019m doing everything within my power to feel better and continue playing great shows for great fans when I\u2019ve got a complete clean bill of health.\u201d <\/p>\n Michaels then expanded on his earlier \u201cWisdomWednesday\u201d lesson, noting that he\u2019s \u201cwise enough to know how important family, friends, fans, doctors and nurses play such a vital role in our everyday health.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cpain became intense,\u201d but Michaels (pictured above at the 2023 Super Bowl) still pushed himself through three performances in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and in Spokane. The slate of performances is scheduled to run through September. <\/p>\n Michaels was also previously scheduled to take part in the President Trump-affiliated Freedom 250 Presents: The Great American State Fair<\/a>\u00a0concert series, which ran from June 25 to July 10. <\/p>\n
