Vladimir Guerrero Jr.<\/a> missed Tuesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after leaving Monday’s series opener due to left hamstring tightness. He’s been listed as day-to-day with hamstring inflammation.<\/p>\n

After Tuesday’s 7-3 win against the Pirates, for which Guerrero Jr. was not available off the bench, manager John Schneider told reporters<\/a> that while the slugger was feeling better, they will likely keep him out of the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale to give him an extended opportunity to recover.<\/p>\n

Guerrero was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the top of the fifth inning and was replaced by Ty France in the three hole and at first base.<\/p>\n

The injury occurred when Guerrero made an impressive stretch in the third inning, doing the splits on a Bo Bichette throw to save a run and record the final out.<\/p>\n

The broadcast showed Guerrero motioning to the back of his left leg while talking to the dugout.<\/p>\n

Guerrero came back out in the bottom of the fourth and recorded two more putouts.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was 0-for-2 against Pirates ace Paul Skenes with an RBI through his first two at-bats of the game.<\/p>\n

After those two trips to the plate, Guerrero is sporting a .298\/.396\/.498 slash line on the season with 21 home runs and 69 RBIs.<\/p>\n

The injury comes just as Guerrero has been rounding into top form at the perfect time for the first-place Blue Jays.
