{"id":827885,"date":"2026-07-26T21:06:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T21:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/827885\/"},"modified":"2026-07-26T21:06:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T21:06:08","slug":"body-found-near-train-tracks-in-brampton-being-investigated-as-suspicious-death-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/827885\/","title":{"rendered":"Body found near train tracks in Brampton being investigated as suspicious death: police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Peel police say they are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near train tracks in Brampton, Ont.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sunday afternoon, Peel Regional Police said there is a large police presence in the area of Queen Street E. and Theatre Lane after a person was found dead in the area adjacent to the tracks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The incident is being investigated as a suspicious death, though the circumstances around what led to it are unclear at this time, Const. Moulika Sharma told CBC Toronto in an email.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Most deaths are considered suspicious until the results of autopsy are made available,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Officers will be on scene for an unknown amount of time conducting their investigation and we appreciate the public&#8217;s patience at this time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sharma added the incident is not being treated as a homicide. Peel police are not sharing details about the person until next of kin are notified.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sharma also said the call came in shortly before 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In an email to CBC Toronto, Metrolinx said there are currently no impacts to service in relation to the incident.
