At the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, director Ryan Coogler announced that Jonsson will be playing Prince T\u2019Challa II, the grown son of T\u2019Challa, in the third installment of the \u201cBlack Panther\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last time we got to make a movie, we introduced a character who is the son of the character that the great Chadwick Boseman played, our\u00a0T\u2019Challa, in that film,\u201d Coogler said onstage. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd today, I want to tell you that in this next film, he grows up [and] he comes of age,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

King T\u2019Challa was previously played by Boseman in the first \u201cBlack Panther\u201d film in 2018.<\/p>\n
Sadly, Boseman died after secretly battling cancer<\/a> in August 2020.
