He&#8217;d already won \u20ac2,000 for being named best teammate in the second week of the race. Baptiste Veistroffer (Lotto -Intermarch\u00e9) won the weekly prize after the opening nine stages, and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/riders\/mathieu-van-der-poel\/\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/riders\/mathieu-van-der-poel\/\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/riders\/mathieu-van-der-poel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mathieu van der Poel<\/a> (Alpecin-Premier Tech) was named the best teammate in the week after helping guide Jasper Philipsen to a sprint victory.<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\">While he never went rogue in his efforts to support Lidl&#8217;s team leaders, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/the-team-cares-more-that-mads-wins-the-green-than-i-win-a-stage-quinn-simmons-has-to-balance-personal-tour-de-france-goals-with-lidl-trek-priorities\/\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/the-team-cares-more-that-mads-wins-the-green-than-i-win-a-stage-quinn-simmons-has-to-balance-personal-tour-de-france-goals-with-lidl-trek-priorities\/\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/the-team-cares-more-that-mads-wins-the-green-than-i-win-a-stage-quinn-simmons-has-to-balance-personal-tour-de-france-goals-with-lidl-trek-priorities\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Simmons did vent his frustrations over the team&#8217;s priorities<\/a> during the race, saying, &#8220;I think the team has made it quite obvious they care more that Mads wins the green than I win a stage,&#8221; after missing out from the break on stage 15.<\/p>\n<p>            You may like<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\">But he did caveat those comments by admitting, &#8220;at the end of the day, they write my paycheck, so I have to do what I&#8217;m told, and I&#8217;m fully here to support Mads in that in that goal to win the green jersey&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\"><a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/he-can-ventilate-the-frustration-but-we-stick-to-the-line-lidl-trek-director-responds-to-quinn-simmons-comments-on-teams-tour-de-france-priorities\/\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/he-can-ventilate-the-frustration-but-we-stick-to-the-line-lidl-trek-director-responds-to-quinn-simmons-comments-on-teams-tour-de-france-priorities\/\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/pro-cycling\/teams-riders\/he-can-ventilate-the-frustration-but-we-stick-to-the-line-lidl-trek-director-responds-to-quinn-simmons-comments-on-teams-tour-de-france-priorities\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Head DS Steven de Jongh responded to those comments<\/a> after stage 17, telling Cyclingnews, &#8220;I can understand his frustration, and also I think for [Mathias] Vacek it&#8217;s the same.
