A 53-year-old man was recovering in hospital early Monday after being stabbed Sunday night in the city\u2019s C\u00f4te-des-Neiges district.<\/p>\n
Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Ch\u00e8vrefils said a 911 call was received at 10:45 p.m. reporting an injured man at the corner of Victoria and Van Horne Aves.<\/p>\n
Officers arriving at the scene found the victim, a 53-year-old man, suffering from at least one stab wound to the upper body. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that do not threaten his life, Ch\u00e8vrefils said.<\/p>\n
An initial investigation suggests the man was stabbed after a dispute with a second individual degenerated. Police intend to examine local surveillance cameras and seek witnesses to determine the events leading up to the assault.<\/p>\n
A canine unit was also deployed at the scene.<\/p>\n
Sunday night\u2019s attack was the fourth stabbing recorded in the city in less than 48 hours.<\/p>\n
Early Saturday, a 45-year-old man was seriously injured<\/a> after he was found at about 4 a.m. stabbed in the wake of a dispute near the corner of St-Marc and Ste-Catherine Sts.<\/p>\n Hours later, a 26-year-old woman was found at about 4:45 p.m. on Bleury St. near de la Concorde St. suffering from at least one stab wound. While initially deemed to be in critical condition, <\/a>she is expected to survive the attack.<\/p>\n
