The objective, according to the region, is to do work that \u201cmaintains and improves Peel\u2019s world-class water systems, allowing us to provide reliable wastewater services to support a thriving community for life.\u201d<\/p>\n
To prepare for the city and Peel\u2019s continued population growth, in particular the Lakeview Village<\/a> development in Mississauga\u2019s southeast corner, \u201cseveral upgrades are being made to the G.E. Booth Water Resource Recovery Facility\u201d located in the area near Dixie Road, officials said earlier.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the planned upgrades is a new outfall pipe that will stretch three kilometres into the lake,\u201d the region said, adding an outfall pipe will return clean treated water from the G.E. Booth facility back into Lake Ontario.<\/p>\n The region further noted that an important part of providing water and wastewater services to the community is Peel\u2019s water resource recovery facilities.<\/p>\n \u201cThese facilities ensure wastewater is cleaned and treated before it\u2019s returned to Lake Ontario,\u201d officials said earlier.<\/p>\n A barge\/rig collects rock and soil samples from Lake Ontario in Mississauga.
