It&#8217;s also about a 10-minute boat ride from Gabriola Island, and Nanaimo isn&#8217;t much further.<\/p>\n<p>That said, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom house is set up for a full-time residence and includes a workshop, so it may be better suited to a work-from-home type of person. The custom post-and-beam house was built about 30 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the house, there&#8217;s a workshop, greenhouse and infrastructure on the island (including some solar panels).<\/p>\n<p>The house and island are currently on the market for $2.6 million, which isn&#8217;t much more than a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouverisawesome.com\/real-estate-news\/benchmark-vancouver-house-compare-the-world-11640566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">benchmark house in Vancouver<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s 1.2 acres of Gulf Island charm.
