\n\tWith his series take of Stephen King\u2019s Carrie set to hit Prime Video on October 7, Mike Flanagan<\/a> will soon be back in business with Amazon MGM Studios<\/a> for the series adaptation of British miniature war game Warhammer 40,000.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline hears that Flanagan is in talks to join the series as an EP. We understand that Flanagan is also engaging as a showrunner, writer and director for the series.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon MGM Studios acquired global rights to Games Workshop\u2019s Warhammer 40,000 in December 2024 for Cavill to EP and star in. <\/p>\n

\n\tWarhammer 40,000\u00a0is set in the far future, where humanity stands at the edge of what might be its brightest future, or its darkest age. The threats to humankind\u2019s empire are many: traitors driven by the fires of ambition, alien empires sworn to reclaim the stars, and the corruption of reality by malevolent gods.<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in March, Flanagan inked a multiyear overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios<\/a> to develop and produce original series for the studio, the first in the pact being Carrie. In TV, Flanagan has served as creator, writer, director and showrunner of The Fall of the House of Usher,\u00a0Midnight Mass,\u00a0The Haunting of Bly Manor,\u00a0The Midnight Club\u00a0and\u00a0The Haunting of Hill House.<\/p>\n

\n\tFlanagan wrote, directed, edited and produced eight feature films including Stephen King adaptations\u00a0Doctor Sleep\u00a0and\u00a0Gerald\u2019s Game, as well as\u00a0Ouija: Origin of Evil,\u00a0Hush,\u00a0Before I Wake,\u00a0Oculus,\u00a0Absentia\u00a0and 2024\u2019s\u00a0The Life of Chuck, which won the People\u2019s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival. He is writing, directing and producing The Exorcist: Martyrs for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, with Scarlett Johansson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Leguizamo, Diane Lane, Carla Cugino and Laurence Fishburne starring.<\/p>\n

\n\tVertigo Entertainment\u2019s Roy Lee and Natalie Viscuso partnered with Cavill to secure the\u00a0Warhammer 40,000\u00a0IP before they took it to Amazon.
