A nationwide warrant has been issued for a 19-year-old Brampton man accused of attempted murder.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police issued the notice on Tuesday evening identifying Kaleb Kimotho as a suspect accused of a lunchtime shooting incident on April 6<\/a> in the Bramalea neighbourhood of Brampton.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe should be considered armed and dangerous,\u201d police said in a news release. \u201cMembers of the public are advised not to approach and to call 911 immediately if seen.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigators are urging Kimotho to seek legal counsel and surrender to police.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said two victims were sitting inside a vehicle near 1020 Central Park Dr. just before noon, when Kimotho and a second suspect entered the vehicle and allegedly fired a gun from the inside as it began to drive away.<\/p>\n

Both victims \u2013 reportedly 21-year-old and 25-year-old men \u2013 were struck and suffered serious injuries, one of them life-threatening at the time.<\/p>\n

Const. Laurie McCann said that victim\u2019s condition was eventually upgraded to stable, while the other victim\u2019s wounds were considered non-life-threatening at the time of the shooting.<\/p>\n

A 19-year-old man was arrested<\/a> on the same day of the incident after a brief foot pursuit and charged with attempted murder using a firearm, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent, a drug-possession offence and five other gun crimes, the Brampton Guardian reported.<\/p>\n

Kimotho, meanwhile, is wanted for attempted murder using a firearm, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing it is unauthorized and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.<\/p>\n

He is described as a Black male who is about 5-foot-8 and 130 pounds. He has short, black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.<\/p>\n

A photo of Kimotho was not available.<\/p>\n
