{"id":833063,"date":"2026-07-29T06:09:41","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T06:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/833063\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T06:09:41","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T06:09:41","slug":"cody-fajardo-tyreik-mcallister-and-travis-theis-earn-cfl-top-player-honours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/833063\/","title":{"rendered":"Cody Fajardo, Tyreik McAllister and Travis Theis earn CFL top player honours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">TORONTO \u2014 Edmonton Elks quarterback Cody Fajardo, Calgary Stampeders returner Tyreik McAllister and running back Travis Theis of the Montreal Alouettes were named the CFL\u2019s players of the week Tuesday,<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Fajardo completed 25-of-32 passes for a career-high 510 yards with four TDs in Edmonton\u2019s 36-34 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Fajardo had four completions of 30-plus yards, including touchdown passes of 57 and 81 yards to Austin Mack in the second half while finishing with a perfect 158.3 efficiency rating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">McAllister became the first player in CFL history to score rushing, receiving and return TDs in a half, doing so in Calgary\u2019s 52-30 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">McAllister returned a missed field goal 118 yards for a touchdown and scored multiple times in a game for the first time in his CFL career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Theis ran 19 times \u2014 tying his career high \u2014 for a career-best 156 yards and a touchdown in Montreal\u2019s 31-18 home win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
