Certified forestry crews from Calgary are expected to begin arriving in Edmonton on Wednesday. They will work in rotations of up to seven days, supporting local crews with tree removal and debris cleanup efforts.<\/p>\n

City officials say damage to Edmonton\u2019s urban tree canopy has been extensive, with demand for assistance far exceeding the capacity of Edmonton\u2019s forestry teams and local contractors.<\/p>\n

Calgary will also deploy waste and recycling services crews and equipment as the week progresses.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the City of Edmonton expressed deep gratitude to its southern neighbour.<\/p>\n

This rapid mobilization is a powerful example of Alberta municipalities working together in times of need,\u201d said the City of Edmonton in a statement Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
