\n\tIt\u2019s apparently \u201cno secret\u201d that something is brewing between Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez<\/a>, according to insiders, but taking things to the next level has proven to be a \u201cproblem\u201d for the close friends.<\/p>\n

\n\tA source told Heat World UK<\/a> that Urban, 58, and Lopez, 57, have been getting closer since the country music star split from ex-wife Nicole Kidman<\/a> in September, reviving a friendship that began in 2014 when the pair were both judges on American Idol.<\/p>\n

\n\tUrban and the \u201cGet Loud\u201d singer reportedly haven\u2019t taken things to the next level, despite their growing friendship. \u201cAt this point, it\u2019s still very much in the friend zone, but it\u2019s no secret Keith thinks that Jen is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous,\u201d the source said. \u201cThe problem is he doesn\u2019t seem to have the guts to make the first move. Whenever his friends tell him he should ask her out, he comes up with excuses.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tUrban has been recovering from the end of his 19-year marriage to Kidman while Lopez is still nursing her wounds after her August 2024 split from Ben Affleck<\/a>. However, dating rumors have been circling the musical duo for several months. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn January, a source told OK!<\/a> that Lopez was acting as a shoulder to cry on for Urban after his breakup<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s still processing her own pain, which has made her particularly attuned to what it feels like when someone else is facing the collapse of a relationship. But things are now definitely heating up between them \u2013 as they are acting as each other\u2019s comfort blanket,\u201d the insider said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThen, in February, New Idea<\/a> reported that Urban and Lopez\u2019s friends were urging them to date. \u201cPeople in both their worlds are trying to play matchmaker for them. The idea of teaming up for some sort of romantic duet has been suggested as a way to jump-start things,\u201d said a source. \u201cIf their would-be Cupids get their way and they do end up taking their friendship to the next level, it could be a really great thing for them on so many levels.\u201d<\/p>\n
