\n\tEvan Rachel Wood<\/a> has shared her thoughts about not returning to Practical Magic 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview, the star said it was \u201csad\u201d she was not asked back to reprise her role in the film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is sad, because we bonded with that cast so much as children, and so to miss out on the opportunity to look at that cast and look at that house as an adult and see the history in our eyes, it\u2019s something that can\u2019t be faked,\u201d Wood told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> during the red carpet of The Shards premiere. \u201cI\u2019m sad that doesn\u2019t get to exist, especially for the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWood starred in the 1998 film based on the Alice Hoffman novel of the same name, playing the role of Kylie Owens, Bullock\u2019s eldest daughter who acts more like Kidman\u2019s Gilly. However, in the sequel, Kylie is played by Joey King.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe novel Practical Magic spawned multiple books, which were prequels like \u201cThe Rules of Magic\u201d (2017) and \u201cMagic Lessons\u201d (2020). The forthcoming \u201cThe Book of Magic\u201d is the novel being adapted into the film, which will also release on September 11.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI read the book, and it seems like they\u2019re not following the book,\u201d Wood said. \u201cI think in the book it would have made sense to bring me back; I think in the way they\u2019re redoing it and approaching it, it didn\u2019t make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen the sequel was announced, Wood spoke out about not being asked to reprise her role<\/a>, saying in an Instagram Story post, \u201cI am getting asked about this a lot, so I\u2019ll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPractical Magic 2 also recast Bullock\u2019s Sally\u2019s daughter Antonia with Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, which Alexandra Artrip played in the 1998 film.
