Charlie Puth and \u201cBlack and Yellow.\u201d He\u2019s also collaborated on popular songs including \u201cPayphone\u201d with Maroon 5 and \u201cYoung, Wild &amp; Free\u201d with <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/the-scene\/snoop-dogg-to-carry-olympic-torch-at-opening-ceremony\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Snoop Dogg<\/a> ft. Bruno Mars.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Khalifa documented his new routine online, first posting some snaps from the vacation, sporting short shorts and Nike running shoes. He even went out for a night run equipped with a headlamp. Stats from his 8.2-km run showed he completed the distance in 49:26, averaging 6 minutes per kilometre. Another post shows him recording in selfie mode, grinning the entire time.<\/p>\n<p>Support from the running world<\/p>\n<p>The posts quickly caught the attention of major running brands. Strava commented, \u201cLet\u2019s get you verified and help you track your journey,\u201d while Coros added, \u201cNeed to get you in a better running watch ASAP.\u201d American runner Emily Infeld also chimed in to show her support.<\/p>\n<p>Even fuelling brands joined the conversation, with GU Energy Labs asking, \u201cNeed some fuel?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Offfield, a cannabis-infused fuel brand, also appeared to embrace Khalifa\u2019s new hobby, writing, \u201cRun High is a movement,\u201d referencing the significant amount of cannabis featured throughout Khalifa\u2019s Instagram posts.<\/p>\n<p>Khalifa\u2019s budding running journey is another example of the growing connection between hip-hop culture and the sport. <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/the-scene\/grammy-nominated-rapper-gunna-launches-free-nyc-5k-race\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gunna, another Grammy-nominated American rapper,<\/a> is becoming increasingly involved in the running world, hosting Wunna Run 5K races around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s Super Bowl half-time performer, American rapper Kendrick Lamar, <a href=\"https:\/\/runningmagazine.ca\/the-scene\/super-bowl-rapper-kendrick-lamars-surprising-daily-ritual\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">runs daily<\/a> to help maintain his endurance on stage.
