Man\u2019s death in fall from Mississauga condo building under police watchdog investigation<\/p>\n
One person is dead and Ontario\u2019s police watchdog is investigating after a police-involved incident where someone fell off of a Mississauga condo building.<\/p>\n
The fatal incident happened at a building on Kingsbridge Garden Circle in the area of Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street on Wednesday morning, Ontario\u2019s Special Investigations unit says.<\/p>\n
Officers with Peel Regional Police \u201cwere present at the time of the man\u2019s death,\u201d and the SIU says it was notified and has invoked its mandate \u2013 which is to investigate police incidents in Ontario involving death, serious injury, the discharge of a firearm, or allegations of sexual assault.<\/p>\n
The SIU did not disclose details about the victim, and no information about the nature of the incident has been disclosed by Peel police. The police watchdog agency says there will be \u201cmore information to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n
In November 2025, the SIU launched an investigation into the fatal fall of an 18-year-old man at the Square One Shopping Centre parkade<\/a>. The SIU found that the man intentionally rolled off the edge of the structure, and there was no \u201creasonable opportunity\u201d for officers on the scene \u201cto intervene or prevent the outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone who has been negatively affected by an incident under SIU investigation can contact the Affected Persons Program for support by calling 1-877-641-1897.
