Residents in part of Brampton should expect construction activity around Attmar Drive and The Gore Road this summer as Peel Region begins work on a major sanitary sewer installation project.<\/p>\n
The project, which will continue until September, will involve continuous tunnelling work to help shorten the overall construction timeline and reduce the long-term disruption for nearby residents.<\/p>\n
Peel Region said the work is being carried out under the City of Brampton\u2019s noise bylaw, which allows tunnelling operations to continue 24 hours a day, seven days a week when required.<\/p>\n
Despite the around-the-clock schedule, the region said it does not anticipate significant noise impacts during the tunnelling phase of the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnder the City of Brampton Noise Bylaw, tunnelling work is allowed to take place continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to reduce the impact of our work,\u201d Peel Region said in a project update.<\/p>\n
While tunnelling crews will be working around the clock, the delivery and removal of construction materials will be limited to daytime hours, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., to minimize disruption in the surrounding neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
The sanitary sewer installation is part of Peel Region\u2019s ongoing efforts to maintain and expand wastewater infrastructure needed to support a growing community.<\/p>\n
Officials said the work will help maintain reliable wastewater services and ensure the region\u2019s water systems can continue to support residents and future growth.<\/p>\n
Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists travelling near the construction area are being reminded to use caution, watch for crews and equipment, and consider alternate routes where possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand construction can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve our community\u2019s infrastructure,\u201d Peel Region said.<\/p>\n
