Dozens of Brampton homes are without water service with outages expected to last around 10 hours due to a pair of watermain breaks.<\/p>\n
Peel Public Works says the first break happened around 7:45 a.m. in the area of Beech Street and Locustwood Crescent. Some 50 homes have no water service and repairs are expected to take up to 10 hours to complete.<\/p>\n
The second watermain incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on Merton Road in a residential area near Kennedy Road North and Vodden Street East. Another 30 homes are being impacted by the second outage, and it could take until 7:15 p.m. for service to be restored, the Region of Peel says.<\/p>\n
The region\u2019s water outage website shows the watermains are undergoing \u201cemergency\u201d repairs. Anyone experiencing water service outages can contact the Region of Peel by calling 905-791-7800.<\/p>\n
Ongoing road and watermain work has been causing weeks of closures and lane reductions in Brampton as the water infrastructure across the region is being upgraded to meet the expected population growth.<\/p>\n
