{"id":836871,"date":"2026-07-30T22:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T22:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/836871\/"},"modified":"2026-07-30T22:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T22:43:10","slug":"woman-charged-after-unprovoked-assault-in-downtown-vancouver-vpd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/836871\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman charged after unprovoked assault in downtown Vancouver: VPD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 34-year-old woman has been charged following an unprovoked assault in downtown Vancouver that left another woman hospitalized, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).<\/p>\n<p>Police say the attack occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Robson and Homer streets.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, a stranger allegedly choked the victim, bit her on the face and hand, and pulled her to the ground during the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect fled the area following the assault but was located and arrested approximately one block away, police said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect and victim did not know each other, and the assault was unprovoked,\u201d said Cst. Megan Lui.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe motive is unknown at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the B.C.
