\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\nThe 17 and 23-year-old sisters with no restaurant or business experience took it upon themselves to open up a caf\u00e9 in just one month.<\/p>\n
The establishment, located steps away from Waterfront Station, is now named Unscripted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cNow it\u2019s like day 55 of something, so clearly it didn\u2019t happen. It\u2019s just like how our name is Unscripted. And we don\u2019t know what we\u2019re doing or how this was going to go,\u201d said Angel Dee.<\/p>\n
\u201cTechnically I worked at Tim Hortons for like six months, but I wouldn\u2019t call it experience, it was just pressing buttons. This is very different for sure,\u201d said Sara Dee.<\/p>\n
The duo documented their journey on social media; learning how to use an espresso machine, renovating the space, and testing recipes..<\/p>\n
But the biggest hurdle they had to overcome?<\/p>\n
\u201cThe paperwork is the worst one, we were so excited about testing recipes, being more involved, but we spent 90 per cent of time in front of a laptop, which we didn\u2019t want to do,\u201d said Sara.<\/p>\n
After nearly two months of hard work and long nights the two had a soft opening for the caf\u00e9 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
They want the space to be an inviting corner in the busy financial district for people to socialize and unwind.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my life savings, I mean we\u2019ve worked since we\u2019re young and we\u2019re super cheap with everything, and this is just our one chance to bet it all,\u201d said Angel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to inspire people to just go for it, it\u2019s okay to learn as you go, you don\u2019t need to know everything from the start. We\u2019re in this, not at all to make money, for us it\u2019s a learning experience and to inspire entrepreneurship.\u201d<\/p>\n
Their working menu incorporates flavours that reflect their Asian background with items like a sweet corn latte and mango slushy.<\/p>\n
The sisters have the spot secured for the rest of the summer but the long term future of the caf\u00e9 remains unscripted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
