A long-running fundraising campaign by Drumheller Fire & Rescue reached a record amount during this year’s Canada Day Parade.<\/p>\n
Since 1971, the fire department has collected donations for Muscular Dystrophy Canada through its annual Fill the Boot Campaign.<\/p>\n
This year, firefighters raised $5,240 for the organization, marking the highest total collected through the local campaign.<\/p>\n
Muscular dystrophy is a group of genetic disorders that cause progressive muscle weakness and degeneration over time.<\/p>\n
