Aydin Beharie made his first-ever hole-in-one, then did it again one hole later on a 293-yard par 4<\/p>\n
POWASSAN \u2014 July 29, 2026, is a day Aydin Beharie will never forget.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 17-year-old from Powassan doesn’t consider himself a great golfer, but on that day he pulled off a feat that even the world’s best golfers rarely accomplish.<\/p>\n
Playing\u00a0at Highview Golf Course in Powassan, Beharie\u00a0hit back-to-back hole-in-ones,\u00a0with the second one taking place on a short par 4.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“All of us at Highview are so proud of Aydin on this incredible achievement – scoring not just his first-ever hole-in-one but backing it up minutes later with his second,”\u00a0exclaimed\u00a0Cole Harrington, pro shop\u00a0manager at Highview.<\/p>\n
Officials at Highview say they have never had one person hit two hole-in-ones on the same day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Beharie, an accomplished hockey player who was drafted by the North Bay Battalion in 2024, recently signed with his hometown Powassan Voodoos and won a Great North U18 championship with the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers,\u00a0was playing with some of his hockey friends in a birthday tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His unforgettable round started\u00a0on the 17th hole, which, from the white tees, is a short 98-yard par 3.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I hit a 56-degree wedge\u00a0on it. And\u00a0from the angle we were standing at, everyone thought it just went long there,” said Beharie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“So we walk up to it. We didn’t see my ball. I was like, ‘Where is it?’ And then I got one\u00a0of my friends there; he checked the cup, started freaking out, and I was like, like ‘Stop messing with me.’ That’s not even funny, right? And then he pulls the ball out of the cup.”<\/p>\n
Shocked, Beharie called\u00a0the pro shop to report his feat. Highview says golfers Carter Vaillancourt, Loic Shank and Ryker Laughlin witnessed the great first ace.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then, trying to compose himself after hitting his first-ever hole-in-one, Beharie proceeded\u00a0to the 18th hole, a 293-yard par 4 tee box.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I pull out\u00a0my driver, I hit it, and it was a really good ball. I hit it really well,” said Beharie.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Nobody actually sees it drop because they’re all\u00a0turned around, focused\u00a0on what just happened before.”<\/p>\n
Beharie says all he knew was that it had landed at the front of the elevated green.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I had hit the green, and nobody saw where it went after that,”\u00a0recalls Beharie.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I thought that was weird, and the ball wasn’t on the green.\u00a0So again, my buddy checked the cup and started really freaking out this time.<\/p>\n
“I was like, ‘Stop, you can’t do this to me.’ Then he once again bends down and pulls the ball out of the cup, and 20 to 30 people just standing around us just start going nuts.”<\/p>\n
Beharie, who is an 8-handicap golfer, went to the pro shop afterwards, and they started discussing the odds of back-to-back hole-in-ones.<\/p>\n
“The guys in the pro shop were looking it up, saying the odds were over one in a billion or something like that,” said Beharie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Professional Golf Association estimates the odds of this golf achievement occurring.\u00a0<\/p>\n
